For millions of women around the world summer is a time to let loose, relax, and enjoy the warm weather with friends and family. However, looking good while doing so is a necessity to many. With every summer season comes new trends and styles that can sometimes be hard to keep up with. Lucky for you we’ve decided to compile the latest trends that are sure to be some of the go-to looks for summer 2013 below.
This summer, be prepared to replace your standard white tee with bold, graphic shirts and blouses. This past month at New York’s Fashion Week there was no trend more apparent than graphic clothing. Some of the world’s most popular designers, like Marc Jacobs and Holly Fulton, had models covered in graphic pieces gracing the runway. Graphic tees and dresses with bright colors and mod designs are also a great way to stand out in a crowd and are a sure way to grab attention.
Another upcoming trend this spring and summer season is metallic clothing with a sheen. Designers like Diane Von Furstenberg and Christian Dior have made their spring/summer 2013 collections full of metallic shirts, dresses, pants, skirts, and accessories. Also, this year’s recent Oscar’s red carpet just proved to the world that metallic clothing is going to be one of the most in-demand looks this year. Wear more subtle metallic clothing during the day and mix it with more solid prints to ensure that it doesn’t become too overwhelming. At night, let your inner metallic queen out and make a statement in bold, bright sheen dresses and skirts.
Lucky for many of you who purchased bold, bright colored clothing last year this trend seems to be here to stay (at least for another year that is). Bold pants, shirts, and skirts are a must have for this summer. Whether these are solid cotton items or on a texture of sorts these bright colors are sure to turn heads.
Mod is Modern
Mod clothing isn’t just for TV Land anymore. The mod look is back this spring/summer with a vengeance. We’re talking 3D flowers on shirts, dizzying bright abstract prints, and oversized, boxy shirts and dresses. Prada, Moschino, and Louis Vuitton (just to name a few) have all launched new spring/summer lines with mod prints. If there’s ever a time to embrace your inner 60’s, it’s now.
