Notes from an Editor
By debauchette
As we enter the new year, we’re going to make a few changes. For one, we want to hear from you. We receive so many excellent emails from like-minded readers that we want to make this site a place for your experiences, your stories, your questions, and your dirty pictures, as well as our own.
We’re also working on finding a way to connect you with one another. We know from experience that it’s hard to find people of similarly debauched orientation in our day-to-day lives, so we’re pretty motivated to make that happen.
We have a new regular: Show Us, a monthly invitation to send in your photography. At the end of each month, we select our favorites for publication in the following issue. Published submissions will receive a one-month subscription (or one month added to existing subscriptions), and one winner will receive the gift as well. This month we have the just-released Best Sex Writing 2010, edited by Rachel Kramer Bussell, which includes a piece first published here at FGT. The winner receives a signed copy with a hand-written note from yours truly.
Next month, Kasia and I are introducing an advice column. If you any questions about sex, kink, or relationships, drop us a note at [email protected].
We’re also going to introduce a new regular from one of our favorite photographers, Noah Kalina. I’ve seen the photos and they’re fantastic.

This issue is about decadence, and while we could have approached it from the erotic luxury angle, a different sort of decadence came to mind: decadence as a way of life, of living. Decadence as play and adventure. Decadence as exuberance and freedom. Something along the lines of Diana Scheunemann’s photography for this issue, of one wild girl and the boy she picked up (and subsequently taped up) on her way home.
Or merkley???’s playful, witty, over-the-top-itude.
- Diana Scheunemann
Certain refined decadence makes me pause and think, “Now that’s beautiful.” This is the sort of decadence that makes me say, “That’s fucking fantastic.”
We have a new writer, Laura Yan, who has some hot things to say about fashion, nakedness, and the band Maxi Geil! and Playcolt. Dress up in glamor only to have it torn away...
I collected a few things for you to browse or buy. Kasia has a few suggestions on how to meet libertines. I encourage you to slow it down (I could afford to take my own advice). Christina introduces us to Franz von Bayros, Decadent with a capital D.
Kim has a piece on the most scandalous woman in the world. And gypsy jet-setters.
Leave your confession. And read our favorites.
And then there’s the hot decadence of Dr. Sketchy’s, Molly Crabapple’s project (we’ll see something special from her in the next issue). Which includes a naked Justine Joli.
Enjoy.
