Ovid and Corinna

This is the 16th position from an eighteenth-century edition of Pietro Aretino's I Modi, based on the designs by Agostino Carracci. Corinna was a Greek poet from the 6th century BC, while Ovid was a Roman poet from the turn of the millenium. Historical accuracy wasn't a priority for this scene of two classical poets in the throes of inspiration.
