Lucas Cranach

Speaking of Lucas Cranach: an advertisement for an exhibition of Cranach's works in 2008 at the Royal Academy of Art in London featured his Venus (1532) and was intended to be displayed in the Tube. But because advertising policies, Transport for London initially banned the ad for its conspicuous display of nudity. After some debate, it was eventually permitted to run.
